Final Fantasy X-2 OST Review

	We've all been patiently awaiting the release of FFX2 for some time now (set for
Oct. 3, 2003), and I've had the good fortune to listen to the 2 disk OST, totalling 61
MP3's.  Eguchi and Matsueda are best known for their work on The Bouncer, parts of the
Final Fantasy collection, including the soon-to-be-released Final Fantasy X Vocal 
Collection.  We have Matsueda to thank for the music of Chrono Trigger, Bahamut Lagoon,
Racing Lagoon, and Front Mission 1 & 2.
	This OST is a far cry from the usual fare in FF games.  Lot's more Jazz, Funk,
and Tribal beats can be heard, from the riff-laiden Machine Faction on Disk 1, to the jazz
stylings of the piano in Besaid from Disk 1.  The Epilogue is reminiscent of Besaid, with
the same progression, but comes off sounding like a Musical Opera (ack!).  Still, Matsueda
managed to pack in full orchestral compositions for the truly gripping sequences (Summoned
Beast on Disk 2, Under Bevelle from Disk 2).
	
Rants: They really screwed it up with the ever-classic Chocobo composition on this one.
